Entries Open for Global Youth Video Competition on Climate Change!, Deadline: 30 August 2016
Are you aged between 18 to 30? Do you have any inspiring actions? If yes, then think about a project or campaign you are involved in to combat climate change, an action which convinced your parents, school or college to take climate action, a lobbying of your elected members of parliament or your city leaders. Whatever is making a difference, turn it into a snappy concise 3 minute video and join the competition.
Categories
- Climate action: submit videos explaining how your activities have helped to address climate change.
- Public awareness: submit videos showcasing your efforts to raise public awareness around climate change.
Prize available
Each winner will receive:
- Round trip to COP22/CMP12 in Marrakech, Morocco from 07 November to 18 November 2016 (inclusive of accommodation and other expenses).
- Position as a youth reporter for COP22/CMP12, responsible for assisting UNFCCC Newsroom team with videos, articles and social media posts.
Guidelines
- Applicant convinced their school, employer or local/national government to take climate action;
- Applicant created formal/non-formal mechanisms/spaces that enable dialogue between young people and company or government representatives on climate action;
- Applicant contributed to government approved documents or regulations that address climate change;
- Applicant have shaped a government’s position at an intergovernmental meeting on climate change;
- Applicant have prevented new fossil fuel infrastructure;
- Applicant have engaged the media on climate change;
- Applicants have organized a successful divestment campaign.
Eligibility Criteria
The competition is open to any young people between the ages of 18 and 30.
How to Apply
Applicants make a three-minute video about their activities and submit their entry by using the entry form via given website.
