20th Medical and Health Research Infrastructure Fund 2016: Promoting Excellence in Health & Medical Research, Deadline: 12 October 2016
The Department of Health is seeking applications for its 20th Medical and Health Research Infrastructure Fund (MHRIF) 2016 with an aim to promote excellence in health and medical research in Western Australia.
The MHRIF provides medical and health researchers with funding to support their research programs by covering infrastructure costs which are not usually a component of competitive research grants, such as research equipment, general support staff, computers and common office services.
The MHRIF provides infrastructure support to WA medical and health researchers who have demonstrated research excellence, based on income received from nationally or internationally competitive, peer-reviewed research grants with a minimal infrastructure component.
Grant Information
Researchers must meet a criterion of ‘excellence’, which is demonstrated through the receipt of eligible research grant income of at least $490,000 over a period of three years.
Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must have Australian citizenship or hold Australian permanent residency.
- The researcher must be employed in a WA institution with sufficient tenure to expend the MHRIF funds in support of their medical or health research in WA. Other employment/research scenarios may be presented to the Research Development Unit for consideration prior to the submission of an application.
