New Paths for Education Program: Increasing Awareness and Knowledge of Best Practices in Indigenous Education across Canada

The Government of Canada, through Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada is seeking proposals for its new Research, Measurement, Evaluation and Knowledge Transfer activities under the New Paths for Education program with an aim to increase awareness and knowledge of best practices in Indigenous education among educators, policy-makers and First Nation leaders across Canada.
The program will support research projects that contribute to the growing body of evidence on educational initiatives across Canada that are positively impacting First Nation students and their educational outcomes.

Grant Information
Proposals should generally not exceed $250,000 and all activities must be completed within 18 months.
Eligibility Criteria
  • Indigenous governments and organizations
  • provincial, territorial, regional and municipal governments and their affiliated organizations such as school boards or districts
  • not-for-profit and for-profit organizations where the activity is non-commercial and not intended to generate profit, supports program priorities and objectives, and will be made publicly available at no cost
  • academic institutions
