Marie Sklodowska-Curie PhD Studentship in Organic Chemistry, 2017-2018
Cardiff University is inviting applications for Marie Sklodowska-Curie PhD Studentship in Organic Chemistry. UK, EU and international applicants are eligible to apply.
The aim of the scholarship is to enable and encourage academically able students from any nationality.
Cardiff University is a public research university located in Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom. Founded in 1883 as the University College of South Wales and Monmouthshire, it became one of the founding colleges of the University of Wales in 1893, and in 1997 received (but held in abeyance) its own degree-awarding powers.
Applicants must hold a 1st Class Honours degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry with specialization in Organic Chemistry by the time of the appointment. Only candidates with an MSc (or equivalent) will be considered.
Course Level: Studentship is available for PhD programme.
Study Subject: Studentship is available in Organic Chemistry at Cardiff University.
Scholarship Award: This studentship is generously funded by the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action and consists of full UK/EU tuition fees, as well as a Doctoral Stipend in the value of €44,895 p.a. and mobility allowance, plus family allowance (if applicable). Two studentships are available.

Eligibility:
- Academic criteria: Applicants must hold a 1st Class Honours degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry with specialization in Organic Chemistry by the time of the appointment. Only candidates with an MSc (or equivalent) will be considered. One year of experience in research in the field of organic synthesis of peptides and/or aromatic heterocycles will be an added value.
- Residency: Applicants must not have resided in the UK where the research training activities take place for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the recruitment date (and not have carried out their main activity, work, studies, etc).

How to Apply: Applicants should email a motivation letter, a CV, a short summary of the research accomplishments, and names of two references to Prof Davide Bonifazi. Applications will be evaluated on an on-going basis, but the studentship must begin by October 2016.
