The position is part of an interdisciplinary project between the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics and Self-Organization, the Bernstein Center and the University Medical Center Göttingen, Germany.
The Max Planck Institute for Dynamics and Self-Organization in Göttingen, Germany, is a research institute for investigations of complex non-equilibrium systems, particularly in physics and biology.
Course Level: Position is open for pursuing PhD programme.

Scholarship Award: The position is initially limited to three years, but can be extended. The starting time of the position is flexible, but should start as soon as possible. Salary and working hours are in accordance with the funding guidelines of the Max Planck Society for junior scientists. Working hours are fulltime; salary is 65 % of E13 TVöD-Bund.

Eligibility: The candidate should have
  • A Master in theoretical or experimental neuroscience, or related disciplines (e. g. physics, biology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, medicine),
  • A strong interest to cross disciplinary boundaries in order to gain a quantitative understanding of neurons and networks in health and disease,
  • English speaking and writing skills. German speaking skills are not required.
Nationality: German citizens can apply for this PhD Position.
