British Council’s Cultural Protection Fund: Creating Sustainable Opportunities for Development, Deadline: 28 October 2016

The British Council is currently inviting applicants for its Cultural Protection Fund with an aim to create sustainable opportunities for economic and social development through building capacity to foster, safeguard and promote cultural heritage in conflict-affected regions overseas.
The programme is divided into two lots:
  • Large Grants programme
  • Small Grants programme
Objectives
  • The protection of heritage and cultural property under threat in the target countries.
  • Training and capacity building for those involved in protecting heritage and cultural property in target countries.
  • Advocacy and education related to the protection of heritage and cultural property in target countries.
Target Countries
AfghanistanEgyptJordanLebanonLibyaIraq, Occupied Palestinian TerritoriesSudanSyriaTunisia,Turkey and Yemen.
Funding Information
  • Small grants (up to £100K).
  • Large grants (more than £100K)
Eligibility Criteria
  • Expressions of Interest are welcomed from across the UK and internationally.
  • Organisations are limited to one Expression of Interest per funding round.
  • Organisations may submit concurrent Expressions of Interest to both the large and small grant application process.
  • The Cultural Protection Fund cannot consider applications from organisations that aim to re-grant.
