Deadline: 1 June 2017
The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) is currently seeking applications for its Engagement Awards that support projects that encourage active integration of patients, caregivers, clinicians, and other healthcare stakeholders as integral members of the patient-centered outcomes research/clinical effectiveness research (PCOR/CER) enterprise.
The Engagement Awards program provides a platform to expand the role of all stakeholders to support PCORI’s Engagement Imperative, defined in their Strategic Plan. This includes PCORI’s goals to:
- Develop the patient-centered outcomes research (PCOR) community to successfully establish an infrastructure for patients, caregivers, clinicians/providers, industry, payers/purchasers, researchers, and other PCOR and comparative clinical effectiveness research (CER) stakeholders to engage them in research, dissemination, and evaluation.
- Engage the community in the research process to influence research and establish trust and legitimacy for successful uptake of research findings.
- Promote dissemination and implementation so that patients, caregivers, clinicians/providers, , industry, payers/purchasers, researchers, and other stakeholders have PCOR/CER information they can use to make decisions that reflect their desired health outcomes and to speed implementation of their findings.
Award Categories
PCORI will fund applications that fall into one or more of the following categories:
- Knowledge Awards will provide insight into the decisions patients and other stakeholders face when seeking healthcare treatments and will help us better understand where there are gaps in usable, understandable PCOR/CER information about healthcare treatments.
- Training and Development Awards will equip individuals, teams, and organizations with the skills necessary to meaningfully participate in PCOR/CER as partners throughout the research process.
- Dissemination Awards will support organizations with strong ties to end-user audiences to prepare to Disseminate and implement PCOR/CER results. They are intended for projects focused on strengthening the infrastructure and relationships necessary to actively disseminate and implement research results or products derived from PCORI studies or other high-quality PCOR/CER findings consistent with PCORI’s research priorities
