Applications will not be considered after 30 June 2017.
2. Eligibility
To be eligible for consideration for the AMBA Scholarship, you must:
- Complete the AMBA Scholarship application form including your essay of no more than 1,000 words answering only the question listed. Submissions need to be in English.
3. Deciding who will receive the scholarship
During your interview, the judging panel will be particularly looking for evidence of:
- Academic ability
- Professional experience and career progression
- Ideas on sustainable and entrepreneurial business
- Ability to communicate experience and ideas
- Plans for utilising the MBA experience after the course
No alternative supporting evidence will be accepted. The panel will oversee the allocation of awards.
4. Conditions of payment
The scheme is only available for those registering for a 2017 and 2018 intake.
Payments, discounts and fee waivers will only apply to students who have enrolled on an AMBA-accredited MBA. AMBA will pay the scholarship to the Business School to be deducted from the successful student’s fees at the point at which the student is eligible to pay their full fees (this period varies between schools but is usually between five and 10 weeks from the commencement of the programme).
AMBA is unable to fund any additional costs to those outlined above. Recipients will therefore have to be able to raise the necessary funds to cover all costs for the remainder of their fees and / or living expenses, which may exceed the total award payable through the scholarship.
6. Notification
You will be notified of the award by email. By accepting the scholarship, you are giving AMBA permission to use your details for promotional purposes and you may be asked to provide a case study which may be used in AMBA publications or on the website.
If you are successful you will also be required to undertake specified duties during the course of your MBA studies, including representing the AMBA-accredited MBA programme at recruitment events (at least in your country of study or domicile), providing reports on each event, and writing at least four blog posts for AMBA’s community.
Winning essays may also be used for PR purposes.
7. Withdrawal of scholarship
AMBA reserves the right to withdraw a scholarship from anyone who is found to have misled us about any aspect of their eligibility, and we also have the right to seek repayment of any amount already paid to the scholarship recipient, by appropriate means.
If the recipient transfers to a course of study outside an AMBA-accredited MBA programme prior to paying the full fees at an AMBA-accredited Business School, the scholarship will not be awarded.
AMBA will not award a scholarship to any student that withdraws from the MBA course before paying his or her full fees.
8. Dispute resolution
Acceptance of the award constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions. In cases not covered by the above terms and conditions, or where a student claims exceptional circumstances, or disputes a decision not to make payments due under a scholarship, they should first put their case in writing to the Chief Executive who will consider the circumstances and uphold, amend or revoke the original decision. Should a student be unhappy with this decision they should follow the AMBA complaints procedure.
