The Mercy Foundation is currently inviting applicants for its Youth Awards 2017 with a motive to end human trafficking and slavery in Australia.
Focus Issues
- Human trafficking and slavery in domestic servitude
- Human trafficking and slavery in restaurant work
- Human trafficking and slavery in agricultural work
Prize Information
- First Prize: $700 to be shared by the winning team/s and $700 to be shared by the winning school/s
- Second Prize: $350 to be shared by the winning team/s and $350 to be shared by the winning school/s
- Third Prize: $200 to be shared by the winning team/s and $200 to be shared by the winning schools
Eligibility Criteria
- Each student entering the Competition (Entrant, or collectively Entrants)
- Participating in the Competition is free and is open to students in Australia who are in the academic years 10, 11 and 12 at the time of entry and at the time the winners of the competition are announced.
- The Competition is not open to:
- Any person who is an employee, officer, servant or contractor of the Promoter (Mercy Foundation)
- Any persons residing outside of Australia
- Any person who refuses to comply with or breaches
- Entrants must register as a team of between 2 to 5 students.
- An Entrant is not permitted to be a member of more than one team.
- An entry into the Competition must be a video that explores and advocates against ONE of the following issues:
- human trafficking in domestic servitude
- human trafficking in restaurant work
- human trafficking in agricultural work (Entry).
- Each team may only submit one Entry into the Competition.
