The Fryderyk Chopin National Institute invites you to take part in a competition for visual identification of the 18th Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competition.
The graphic presentation of one of the oldest music competitions in the world has always inspired great interest. Its first edition in 1927 brought with it the birth of a Chopin poster concept that has endured without interruption until this day, Its essence is the combination of a typographic element with symbolism referring both to the person of Fryderyk Chopin, and to the long-standing tradition of the Chopin Competition.
The competition has two rounds. In the first one, participants can submit application form and a graphic design in B1 poster format and technique, on or before 10 May 2017. No more than three participants are to be admitted to the second round, in which, they will send to the organizer all elements of the visual identification of the 18th Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competition, on or before 30 June 2017.
Eligibility
Anyone born on or before 19 January 1999 (i.e. aged 18 years on or before the competition announcement date) may take part in the graphic competition.
Prize
The total prize fund of PLN 47,000 (more than EUR 11,000) will be divided to three main prizes:
- PLN 30,000 are reserved for the winner of the 1st Prize (around EUR 7,000);
- PLN 10,000 for the winner of the 2nd prize (around EUR 2,300);
- PLN 7,000 for the 3rd prize winner (around EUR 1,600).
There’s no entry fee for participation and it’s free to enter.
How to apply?
Deadline for applications is 10 May. The organizer will conclude the competition on the 17 July 2017 with the announcement of the winners.
