The competition funded by Warsteiner brewery offers young artists from all around the world the possibility to gain a foothold in the international art market.

Who can apply?

Visual arts, Design, Urban art or Video – the artistic potential has no limitations at BLOOOM Award by WARSTEINER. We are looking for artists who knowingly work at the interfaces between art and creative industries, whose works blur boundaries of traditional forms of expression. Since its beginning in 2010, BLOOOM Award by WARSTEINER emphasizes interdisciplinarity, power of innovation, courage and progressiveness. For the last edition, more than 2,000 artists applied from 84 countries.

What characterizes BLOOOM Award

BLOOOM Award by WARSTEINER consciously takes responsibility for the participating artists and is distinguished by a long-term support. For one year, the winner will be actively supported in his career: As part of a one-year mentoring by one of the jury members, the winner defines goals with the mentor to boost his career. Next steps are planned together and the winner benefits from the contacts and experience of his mentor.

All ten finalists get the chance to exhibit their works during BLOOOM – the one artist show, that counted 37,000 visitors last year. On-site they’re able to make valuable contacts with curators and galleries.

BLOOOM Award by WARSTEINER thus offers artists a special platform, to draw attention to themselves and their work.

PRIZES

• FIRST PLACE

  Exhibition at the BLOOOM – the one artist show 

  - Present your work and yourself at BLOOOM in Düsseldorf, that counted 37,000 visitors in Cologne last year, and socialize with gallery owners, collectors and media representatives

  
  

  Year-long mentoring support through a member of the jury

  - You will join a year-long mentoring program. Together with your mentor you will plan the next important steps concerning your career as an artist. You will benefit from your mentor's network and experience who will support you in word and deed

  
  

  Travel with jury member Walter Gehlen to Miami for the Art Basel Miami Beach or Art Basel Hong Kong

  - The journey to Miami or Hong Kong including EUR 1,500 pocket-money will be the icing on the cake of your mentoring program. For sure, your mentor and you will do some nice networking there, as you will visit fantastic exhibitions.

• SECOND PLACE

  Exhibition at the BLOOOM – the converging art show

  - Present your work and yourself at BLOOOM in Düsseldorf, that counted 37,000 visitors in Cologne last year, and socialize with gallery owners, collectors and media representatives

  
  

  Exhibition in a selected gallery

  - Be in focus and exhibit a scope of your work in a renown gallery

  
  

  Trip to Art Paris

  - Win a "Voyage Exceptionnel" when the City of Love transforms into the City of Art

  One day mentoring support through Walter Gehlen

  - Be accompanied by your mentor for one day. If you want, your mentor visits you in your working surrounding. Look forward to an exciting day with lots of tips and information for your forthcoming career.
