Apply for Google Travel and Conference Grants!

Applications are open for the “Google Travel and Conference Grants” to help break down the barriers that prevent underrepresented groups in computer science from attending leading tech conferences.
Everyone deserves the opportunity to pursue a career in computer science and technology, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, disability or military service.
Grants are available in North America for all traditionally underrepresented groups in technology (including, but not limited to, African Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans, persons with disabilities, women and veterans) and in Europe for women in technology.
Funding Information
- North America: A $500 reimbursement to retroactively be used toward airfare and accommodation costs (will be awarded after the conference)
- Europe: Up to 1000 EUR towards travel and accommodation costs (will be paid after the conference)
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for a grant to attend a conference in North America, applicants must:
- Be a resident of North America
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Work or study in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a technical field related to the conference subject
- Have a strong academic and/or professional background with demonstrated leadership ability.
- Be able to attend the core day(s) of one of the conferences listed below:
- National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Convention (Deadline: January 22, 2017)
- CanSecWest 2017 (Deadline: January 17, 2017)
- IEEE Security and Privacy Symposium in San Jose, CA (Deadline: March 10, 2017)
- Richard Tapia Conference (Deadline: June 28, 2017)
To be eligible for a grant to attend a conference in Europe, applicants must:
- Be a woman working or studying Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a technical field related to the conference subject (no residency restrictions apply).
- Have a strong academic and/or professional background with demonstrated leadership ability.
- Be able to attend the core day(s) of one of the conferences listed below:
- HITBSECCONF2017 Amsterdam (Deadline: March 6th, 2017)
- SREcon17 Europe (Deadline: July 28th, 2017)
