VIA Global Community Fellowship 2017 (Fully funded)

Overview:
The Global Community Fellowship is a 13-15 month program for graduating seniors and young/ established professionals. Fellows work at NGOs and schools across Asia to support community development and youth education programs. By working directly with communities, fellows get hands-on experience learning how organizations in Asia are using creative and innovative methods to address critical social challenges.
Who Can Apply?
Starting and experienced professionals with a BA or BS degree (must graduate June 2017). Although the fellowship is primarily aimed towards US citizens, we do accept applications from international residents who have a previous connection to VIA or a substantial US connection.
FELLOW DUTIES
Education-focused Posts — As a teaching fellow, you’ll advance student development using critical thinking, peace and conflict resolution, and cross-cultural communication curriculum. You’ll also help students to access future education and professional opportunities.
NGO-focused Posts — As an NGO fellow, you’ll support community development and international communication efforts by supporting NGOs to access resources, networks, and collaboration opportunities.
Finances:
The fellowship is fully funded by VIA, with support from alumni, grants, and our partners.
Application Instructions:
There are four parts to the online application:
Part 1: Personal Information
In this section you will be asked to provide information about yourself, your contact information, and your education background.
Part 2: Post Preferences
In this section, you will be asked to select three post locations in order of preference. Please review the available post locations on the “Regional Posts” page.
Part 3: Short Answer Responses
In this section, you will be asked a series of questions about your interest in the program and personal experiences that support your application. We hope for thoughtful, candid responses to aid in selection and to help you prepare for your overseas experience. Responses may vary in length, but please do not write more than two paragraphs per question.
Part 4: Resume and Letter(s) of Recommendation
In this section, you will be asked to upload your resume and letter(s) of recommendation (only one is required, but you may submit a second one) separately as .doc, .docx, or .pdf files (each file must not exceed 50 MB).
