Application is ongoing for the World Habitat Awards 2017-18. The World Habitat Awards were established in 1985 by the Building and Social Housing Foundation (BSHF) as part of its contribution to the United Nations International Year of Shelter for the Homeless. Each year BSHF gives two awards in conjunction with UN-Habitat to projects that provide practical, innovative solutions to current housing needs, with a particular focus on decent, affordable housing. The awards are presented at a UN-Habitat global event.
Prizes
A prize of £10,000 and an award are given to two winners.
Eligibility
Organizers are interested in projects that:
Focus on affordable and adequate housing;Are in progress or have been completed in the last ten years;Have been designed and/or delivered in close collaboration with the residents/local community.
Please note: Projects at design/prototype stage or completed over ten years ago will not be considered.
