JNCASR Visiting Fellowship Programme in India, 2016 -2017

Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) is offering visiting fellowship programme for the academic year 2016 -2017. These fellowships will be awarded to research scientists working in educational institutions and R&D laboratories in India.

The scope of JNCASR is to foster collaborations with the Centre’s faculty and to provide research opportunities, the Centre offers Visiting Fellowships to research scientists working in educational institutions and R&D laboratories in India.
Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) is a multidisciplinary research institute situated in Jakkur, a locality north of Bangalore, India. It is relatively young yet well-known around the Globe. The Centre is funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and is a deemed university.
Course Level: Fellowships are available for pursuing research programme which will be carried out at the host institution.
Study Subject: Fellowships are awarded in the field of Life Sciences (including molecular and developmental biology, chronobiology, genetics, ecology, behavior, neurobiology); Materials Sciences (including nanoscience);Chemical Sciences (including chemical biology,interfaces of chemical science with materials,solid-state chemistry, theoretical/computational chemistry, inorganic, physical and organic chemistry);Physical Sciences (including experimental and theoretical condensed-matter and materials physics, statistical physics, organic electronics and experimental nanobiotechnology); Engineering Sciences (including fluid dynamics, nonlinear dynamics, and thermal and chemical engineering); and Atmospheric Sciences.
Scholarship Award: The fellowship is tenable for a minimum uninterrupted period of sixty days and the maximum of 3 months and valid for one year from the date of the offer letter. The timing of the visit may be decided according to mutual convenience.The fellowship carries an honorarium of Rs 25000 per month
Scholarship can be taken in India
Eligibility: Research scientists or engineers with a Ph.D., who have permanent positions in educational  institutions or R&D laboratories are invited to apply. Individuals who have applied for or utilized this Visiting Fellowship Programme earlier need not apply.
Nationality: Applicants from India can apply for visiting fellowship programme.
College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirement: Applicants must have a PhD degree to apply for this Visiting Fellowship Programme.
How to apply: The completed application must include a certificate from the Head of the candidate’s parent institute permitting continuous leave for the duration of the fellowship. The completed application and supporting documents should be sent as a single PDF file by and also in hard copy by post.
Application Deadline: The application deadline is 29 August 2016.
