To celebrate World Book Day 2016 in Bangladesh, British Council and Daffodil Education Network (DEN) are launching a new reading competition. Take part in the book challenge for both adults and children, and enjoy reading!

HOW TO ENTER

Please follow these steps: 

1. Register for your book before the closing date of 8 September 2016. 

2. Once you have registered, you will receive a confirmation email with details on where to collect your book. You can collect your book from registration points across the country. 

3. At your selected registration point, you will need to provide one passport sized photograph with your confirmation email, and pay the entry cost of Tk.400 to receive your special British Council book to keep. This easy story book is in English and enjoyable for readers of all levels.

4. Read your book and take part in the book challenge!

If you cannot get to a registration point, you can still take part by using our online materials.

BOOK CHALLENGE AND WHO CAN PARTICIPATE

CHILDREN
GROUP A (CLASS I - V)

Children can choose one of the following exercises: drawing a picture, writing a summary, or a description of a character or another story based on the British Council book. It must then be sent to the British Council, 5 Fuller Road, Dhaka 1000 by 20 September 2016 mentioning their registration number, group and contact details.

ADULTS
GROUP B (CLASS VI - VIII), C (CLASS IX - XII) AND D (ANY ADULT)

Adults will need to attend the book challenge on 23 September 2016 at 10:00 at Daffodil University, Prince Plaza, 4/2,Sobhan Bagh, Mirpur Road, Dhaka 1207. 

Participants will sit a written test which contains two questions. For example: 
a) summary of the story or description of the characters, 
b) your view about the book reading competition/World Book Day etc.

WINNERS AND PRIZE GIVING CEREMONY

6 laptops for top winners and more than 60 other prizes to be awarded.
One book challenge winner will be chosen from each group and will receive a laptop. 15 attractive prizes awarded to each group of runners up. All participants who complete the book challenge will be awarded a certificate of attendance.
