UNDP India Internship Programme for Indian and International Applicants, 2017
UNDP India offers internships every year to Indian and foreign students. Applicants must be enrolled in a Master’s or PhD level programme in a graduate school/university and able to obtain necessary visas and arrange travel to New Delhi, India. United Nations’ interns are not paid. All internships are non-remunerative. All costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation and living expenses must be borne by either the interns or their sponsoring institutions.
Field of Internship: Objectives of UNDP India Internship Programme are
- To provide a framework to students by which their educational experience is enhanced through practical work assignments
- To expose them to an international environment
- To expose them to the work of the organisation with the objective of deepening their knowledge and understanding of UNDP’s goals, principles and activities
- To provide UNDP India office with the assistance of qualified students specialised in various professional fields

- Able to obtain necessary visas and arrange travel to New Delhi, India
- Able to cover the cost of travel, accommodation and living expenses in New Delhi
- Fluent in English
- Medically insured.
Internship Open for International Students: Indian as well as foreign students are eligible to apply for this internship programme.
Is this paid internship? No,
- Cost: United Nations’ interns are not paid. All internships are non-remunerative. All costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation and living expenses must be borne by either the interns or their sponsoring institutions
- Visa: You will be responsible for obtaining and financing the necessary visas
- Travel: You will arrange and finance your travel to the duty station (New Delhi).Any official travel out of the duty station is not permissible
- Medical insurance: You will be responsible for costs arising from accidents and/or illness incurred during the internship, and must show proof of a valid major global medical insurance coverage
- Confidentiality: You must be discreet and keep confidential any and all unpublished information obtained during the course of the internship, and may not publish any documents based on such information
Internship Description: UNDP India offers internships every year to Indian and foreign students. Internships are offered twice every year– in March and in October. To ensure that interns have a valuable experience during their time at UNDP India, we only offer limited internships. All applications are reviewed by an internal committee.
A number of awards offered: UNDP India offers limited internships to the applicants.
Internship Duration: The duration of the internship is six weeks to six months depending on the terms of reference.

- Proof of Medical and Life Insurance
- Valid passport and Visa (not applicable to Indian nationals and persons of Indian origin)
- Proof of sustenance for the duration of the internship.
