Europeans for Peace: Funding Programme for International Youth Project, Deadline: 1 December 2016

The Remembrance, Responsibility and Future Foundation (Foundation EVZ) is inviting applications for its Europeans for Peace programme to promote international encounters of young people from Germany and the countries of Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe as well as Israel. Europeans for Peace encourages young people to be active for human rights and international understanding with historical awareness.
The theme for 2017/18 programme is- DISCRIMINATION. WATCH OUT!
In the current programme cycle the young people examine discrimination and persecution under National Socialism or current issues of discrimination against the background of Article 2 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) of 1948: Ban on Discrimination
The projects, which will be implemented between July 2017 and August 2018, can select a historical or contemporary approach to the theme. It is also possible to combine the two approaches.
Benefits
One can apply for funding for:
  • Travel expenses
  • Costs of accommodation and board (programme costs)
  • Materials for developing and presenting the results
  • Personnel costs (fees)
  • EUROPEANS FOR PEACE also offers a counselling seminar before the project starts.
Eligibility Criteria
  • Eligible applicants are:
    • School and youth groups from Germany, together with a partner from Central, Eastern or South-Eastern Europe or from Israel
    • Binational or trinational projects
    • Young people between the ages of 12 and 21 together with their project leaders (not university or college students).
  • Eligible project characteristics:
    • The projects are developed and implemented jointly
    • The viewpoints and the experiences of the partners are taken into account
    • The projects reflect the life world of the young people
    • Intergenerational dialogue is stimulated
    • The (multilingual) results are jointly produced and presented to the public
