Don’t miss this opportunity to apply for the annual startup contest, the Women Entrepreneur Quest (WEQ) 2016 that will be held in December 2016.

The Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing is seeking applications for its “Women Entrepreneur Quest 2016” to identify and rewards talented women entrepreneurs who are founders of technical ventures.

WEQ is not just a popular contest but a comprehensive platform that provides mentoring, learning and networking opportunities for real business growth. It is sponsored by the Anita Borg Institute India (ABI India) and the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India.

Benefits

• Top 10 winners of WEQ 2016 will receive an all-expenses-paid experiential learning visit to Silicon Valley, US.
• During the trip the women entrepreneurs will receive exposure, capacity building and networking opportunities. The Top 10 will get to visit leading tech companies, startups and hackerspaces in the Valley. The capacity building will comprise of visits to universities, workshops and interactions with mentors and investors.
• The 25 finalists of WEQ 2016 will receive a free day-pass for attending the Grace Hopper Celebration India (GHCI) 2016 conference on 9 December, 2016 in Bangalore. GHCI is the largest technical conference for women in India and is a great opportunity to learn and network with some of the best minds in the industry.

Eligibility Criteria

• The applicant must be a woman.
• The applicant must be a founder/co-founder of an early stage technology startup.
• The startup must be an Indian operating and registered entity.
• The primary business focus of the startup needs to be in the technology domain and can cover any sector of technology such as the Internet, Mobile, Clean Tech, Web-based applications, Cloud, IT Enabled Services, Agriculture, Education, Financial Inclusion, Healthcare Applications, Social Media and so on.
• Finalists (Top 6) from past WEQ contests are not eligible to apply.

• The WEQ committee reserves the right to request for proof of eligibility criteria.
• Any misrepresentation of facts will lead to automatic disqualification from the contest.
